EssentialPIM has issued its second major release of 2025—version 12.5.
I wrote last time that EPIM 12.5 introduced too many significant enhancements for one post and focused on changes that affect the appearance and streamline certain functions.
We'll continue by exploring enhancements to the date/time functions and changes in the Passwords module.

We’re excited to announce the release of EPIM 12.5.2, the latest update to our streamlined productivity suite. This release refines EPIM Pro and EPIM Mail with new features and important fixes.
Highlights of this update include the ability to hide the Quick Add Bar for Tasks in the sidebar, template selection on the customized view bar for the Kanban Board in Tasks, and an enhanced display of tags for events across different Calendar views. In addition, you can now set the Portable version of EPIM as your default email client (just be sure to run it as administrator).
This update also includes various other optimizations and bug fixes to make EPIM faster and more reliable.

EssentialPIM has issued its second major release of 2025—version 12.5.
This release is different, and I say this as a 20-year user. Version 12.5 feels like a new era in EPIM's development.
- The architecture has advanced from 32-bit to 64-bit, which is designed for better performance and security, improvements that beta testers confirmed.
- The free version has been retooled into an advanced email manager and renamed accordingly, EssentialPIM Mail.
- EssentialPIM has been rebranded. In our typical zeal for shortcuts, users have often shortened the name to EPIM. Now, it is official. EssentialPIM is EPIM Mail (free) and EPIM Pro (paid).
While laying the groundwork for the future, v12.5 introduces numerous enhancements and adjustments, too many to discuss in one post.
To understand the changes, I like to dig behind the descriptions in the release notes and discover differences from prior versions. Accordingly, there are numerous “before” and “now” screenshots in this post, and the headings tie back to those in the version history. I'll group them into two categories: appearance and streamlined handling.

We're excited to announce the release of EssentialPIM 12.2.1 - a minor update that brings not just bug fixes but also several valuable improvements.
You can now disable dynamic column resizing in all table views by right-clicking a column header. EPIM also gains support for automatic system theme matching, which can be configured in Appearance settings.
Mail sync with IMAP accounts has been further optimized, ensuring smoother performance and reliability. We've also addressed issues with customized view templates in Calendar and Tasks and fixed a permission-related bug that prevented item deletion in EPIM Pro Business.
